Who is microcosm coffee roasters?

We're a micro-roastery that launched in March 2026 in Massachusetts. We focus on ultra-fresh small-batch roasting, ethical sourcing, and building a purpose-driven coffee community. Whole bean specialty coffee to your door within days.

Where do you source your coffee beans?

We source through verified ethical marketplaces, choosing farms and cooperatives that meet at least one of these criteria: women-led, living wage certified, fair trade, or organic. We're building toward direct trade relationships as we grow.

What does "ultra-fresh" mean?

Most commercial coffee is roasted weeks or months before it reaches you. We roast to order and deliver within days. Coffee is at its peak flavor 3-21 days after roasting—that's when you receive it.

What does "micro-batch" mean?

Micro-batch roasting means we roast coffee in small quantities (3 pounds at a time) rather than large commercial batches of 50-200+ pounds.

While commercial roasters juggle dozens of product lines—different origins, blends, and flavor profiles—micro-batch roasting lets us focus on the quality of every single bag. We have better control over consistency, roast fresh to order (not weeks in advance), and pay closer attention to the unique characteristics of each origin.

The result: peak freshness and more consistent quality when it reaches you.

What makes you different than other coffee subscriptions?

Four things:

(1) Freshness — we roast in micro-batches when you order and ship within days. Coffee peaks 3-21 days after roasting — that's when you receive it.

(2) Ethical sourcing — farmer-owned cooperatives, women's leadership, living wages, fair trade.,

(3) Carbon reduction — all-electric zero-combustion roasting, nearly 90% lower footprint than conventional gas roasting.

(4) Honesty — we don't have all the ethical challenges resolved and won't pretend to. We're sharing the process as we build.

How does the subscription work?

Choose your bag size (12oz bags of whole bean coffee) and frequency (every 1, 2, 4, or 6 weeks). We roast your coffee fresh and ship it to arrive during peak freshness. Pause or cancel anytime.
